FLACSI ( Federation of Latin American and Caribbean Jesuit Schools) has decided to support an strategic plan 2010-13 in order to work together with Fe y Alegria-Haiti.

According with our strong belief that Education remains one of the most decisive factors to overcome poverty, we are encouraged to set financial and human resources through the collaboration between Ignatian school and alumni across the world.

As part of this project, we will send a group of “senior volunteers” to get a better understanding about the educational problems and background. By this way, we are going to define clearly the strategies to ensure the main goal of this project: to support a better education for Haiti. In a second stage, we are planning to include more volunteers and professionals according with the activities defined in the project.

FLACSI and others Jesuit partnerships are concerned to develop an international campaign called “Ignatians for Haiti”. The first objective of this campaign is to create awareness about the current educational problem in Haiti and to prepare our volunteers, it stage will begin in July. The second objective, will be focus to get the financial support to the project, taking advantage of our international network, it stage will be running from October to November 2011. The money collected will be managed by a special board and the campaign will stay running for the next three years.

The campaign will be working by the use of social networks and between students, teachers and alumni from Jesuit Schools.

The Agreement was signed by Fr. Gabriel Ambroise, S.J from FOI ET JOIE-HAITI, Mr. Benito Baranda from AMERICA SOLIDARIA, and Fr. Alejandro Pizarro , S.J. from FLACSI .
