Eldred Tellis, alumni of St. Stanislaus has been elected a Fellow by ‘Ashoka - Innovators for the public’ a Washington ,USA based organization.
Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems.
Eldred has gone through a rigorous selection process and meets the criteria for a leading social entrepreneur. Ashoka has pioneered the conversation around social entrepreneurship since the first Ashoka Fellow in India was elected in 1982. Today Asoka has over 2000 Fellows in their network across 60 countries. Eldred is one of this select group of individuals who are leading innovative social change.
Besides this, his organisation, Sankalp Rehabilitation Trust has been awarded the prestigious Red Ribbon Award. This is given to organisations showing outstanding leadership in the field of HIV/AIDS. It is a UNDP award which will be conferred at the International AIDS Conference in Mexico this August in the presence of 24,000 delegates. He will also be vying for further honours at this conference among 25 different organisations.
Eldred Tellis graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1975.
